PROJECT
SAMWORTH BROTHERS
Samworth Brothers had newly opened Ashton Green Bakery, part of the Bradgate business in Leicester and had strong environmental credentials. They turned to SAS ENERGY seeking a sustainable solution to meet the organisations environmental targets. The solar PV array covered the full 2,200 m2 of the roof building, accommodating 184.68kW system that covers 22% of the sites energy needs generated from renewable resources. Due to the flat roof style of the building, K2 Dome Mounting systems were used to fix the panels as they have seen a 10 degree elevation angle that allows them to face directly south in order to maximise system output. Ashton Green Bakery is the first Samworth site to use renewable energy to generate on-site power and have seen a substantial reduction in their energy bills and and are able to minimise their carbon footprint.
