PROJECT
UNIVERSITY OF SUSSEX

SAS ENERGY worked in partnership with the University of Sussex (UoS) , Sussex Estates and Facilities (SEF) and Interserve to prepare the business case, design and install the largest rooftop solar PV solution in UK’s Higher Education Sector. 3,144 Trina Solar PV panels are optimised with (a) SolarEdge’s module-level power engineering technology to maximise the harvesting of energy from each module, (b) Valk Solar Systems mountings to minimise the use of ballast and (c) where there were complex requirements K2 Solar Mounting Solutions. This system will help the University to halve its carbon emissions. Caroline Lucas, Joint Leader of The Green Party and the UoS’s Vice Chancellor Professor Saul Becker, helped to switch on the system.
